SERVICE LEVEL AGREEMENTS
A Berkeley, California medical research lab called on PC Professional's Technical Engineers to customize an addition to their lab's current computer network along with migrating crucial cytology documents from a legacy platform. Our team was able to provide personalized service & network security for this very important data migration through effective equipment testing, existing server migration to new HP servers, and the installation of customized racking in the client's data center.
A leading electrical construction and engineering firm in Northern California identified the need to upgrade their current NT4.0/W2000 SVR Environment to W2003 Server in order to enhance the collaborative nature of their business and to take advantage of efficient technologies. To facilitate the merge to this New Technology, an In Place Migration of their existing NT4.0/W2000 SVR Environment needed to occur. They partnered with PC Professional to take advantage of our existing expertise in all areas of implementation from planning, integration/implementation, training, and after-installation support. By working together a successful migration was able to take place with limited downtime to the users.

A company that designs and procures pottery products from across the United States and around the world identified the need to rework their current NT4.0/W2000 Server and Exchange 2000 Environment to a new more robust W2000 and Exchange 2000 Environment. This migration was necessary to maintain efficiency with the growing business. To facilitate the merge to this New Technology, it was determined that this company needed to perform an In Place Migration of their existing Environment. The expertise of PC Professional helped bring about a quick migration with no downtime for the employees in completing crucial day-to-day tasks.

Technical Support Success-
PC Professional has provided consistent technical support to a nationally recognized law firm in their Oakland branch office. A technician is outsourced to their office every week to take care of all their computer needs to ensure smooth business operations and no computer related downtime. Our engineers also provide network maintenance for the company including: new setups, virus scans, printer services, email server, updates, patches, computer and network security solutions, and all back up solutions. By outsourcing a weekly technician a busy law firm can save payroll costs from having a full time in-house IT Tech and also make sure that all their computer needs are taken care of.

A San Francisco based accounting firm has partnered with PC Professional for the past 7 years to provide all their computer repair, and IT support including computer technical services, server migration, workstation updates, security protection and technology design. These services have allowed the client to forego hiring a full time IT person to support their 25 user network. Our once a week technician performs all the software updates necessary to keep the client up-to-date with the current accounting software forms and procedures. Since most of the work they perform involves applications accessed via the Internet, uptime and response time are critical to the operation of their business. Having an on call technician affords the clients the ability to always keep operating with minimized downtime, but at a cost savings in employee overhead.

When we were called in to provide potential IT services to support their network, they were looking for a way to both save money, increase the sense of urgency surrounding their network, and light a fire under their outside Oracle developer. This company was paying someone hourly for 40 hours a week but still not getting the support they needed. They were paying for full time IT support but receiving less than acceptable performance results. By redesigning the network, moving to a Windows 2000 environment, centralizing the backup and standardizing the software being run on each desktop PC Professional was able to drastically cut the IT outsourcing time from 40 hours to 8 hours per week; a huge saving for the client. In addition, our outsourced technician has worked closely with their Oracle developer to help improve the response time on any data base issues and helped provide the motivation to move along the project to port their Oracle application to the version 9 platform. In addition we have taken over support for their Cisco equipment and now provide all hardware warranty repairs, upgrades, and migrations.

Outsourcing Success-
When this consulting company merged with a local management consulting firm, they needed a way to have local technical support to implement policy and procedures required by the parent company. Since the local office only had 20 employees, and with most of the application servers located off site in Virginia, it made sense for the company to look for a local IT support company to provide the expertise to support both the local users and the corporate mandates from Virginia. PC Professional has been providing on site computer technical support for 4 hours every day for the past 6 months. Outsourcing technical support has resulted in cost saving benefits for the client who doesn't need to hire a full time IT tech. Our outsourced technician is also available for non scheduled responses to any disaster that might occur within the local network.

A company that is an industry leader in multi-window display processing, scan conversion, keying, digital recording, and multi-media display decided they needed technical assistance while their IT manager was out for a long period of time. The IT manager would not have been able to leave if the position was not fully covered by an experienced technician. PC Professional was able to outsource a technician to keep the company up and running. While outsourced at this company the PC Professional technician fixed problems they were having with their self-installed exchange server, did software and security patch updates, and all printer repairs and services. By providing this outsource the company was able to continue working without any disruption to their users.

For the past 2 years, PC Professional has provided technical outsourcing to a large graphic design and production company located in Oakland, California. We provide on site computer technical support 2 days every week. Our engineer supports the Microsoft network of 35 users, the Internet connection, the desktops, network printers, remote VPN clients, the accounting server, the email server, wireless hand held inventory devices and PDA's.
Late in 2003, PC Professional outlined a plan for an upgrade and decided to migrate the client to a Microsoft 2003 server environment with Exchange 2003. As part of the migration we redesigned the server room, racked all the equipment, centralized the backup, installed a new Cisco firewall with VPN access, upgraded their UPS system and transferred their Internet service provider to a less expensive T1 solution. This was all accomplished with minimum disruption to their users. The service has resulted in a cost savings benefit for the client because they have been able to maintain efficient network management and computer maintenance while not having to pay full-time wages for IT support.

One of the largest catering companies in the bay area had the need to migrate to a larger capacity network and update the speed of their email server. Since they have a custom application running their business they turned to the individual who installed the package to perform the migration task. The individual was located on the East Coast, which meant that he needed to come to the East Bay site to perform the tasks. Unfortunately, he was unable to complete the tasks on site and chose to finish the install remotely. The combination of hardware failures and software installation problems resulted in a crashed email server that lost many current emails. The client was down for about 3 days and unable to communicate via email with their clients. Since email was the main form of communication for all proposal, change orders and getting client approval they had a disaster on their hands.
They turned to PC Professional's network crisis management team who provided them with immediate response and resolution. The results were fast, efficient and most importantly successful. By combining a server rebuild, expanded storage installation and updating tape back up procedures we were able to rectify a bad situation. PC Professional was able to get back all old emails, centralize the backup procedure, upgrade the email server, standardize the UPS battery backup, and install a CISCO PIX firewall for VPN access for the partners. We now perform weekly IT outsourcing to keep the network working at peak performance, update all security patches, keep virus protection active and monitored, and support the users in production through a secure protected environment.

CONSULTING FIRM
A benefits consulting firm since 1959 called on PC Professional for a server site relocation which was to be completed under a tight deadline. PC Professional was able to dedicate technicians immediately who worked efficiently under strict deadlines to successfully complete a co-location fail-over. Once at the new location, the technicians extended further support in all setup and installations. The servers were setup, racked, cabled, and tested all within the deadlines allowing for a successful implementation of the new hardware.

HIGH-TECH SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT COMPANY: High-tech industry
This High-tech software development company is a leading metrology supplier to the flat panel display and magnetic recording head industries, serving the global semiconductor industry. PC Professional's Technical Engineers faced a 30-day deadline to migrate company-wide e-mail services from an ASP model to an internally hosted e-mail system for 150 users.
LANDSCAPE FIRM: Landscape Management Industry
A Landscape Management Firm which operates in the greater Bay Area, manages single family residential homes, homeowner's associations, multi-family dwellings, as well as small commercial sites. An East Bat landscape management company recently acquired a new division in the South Bay. They hoped to integrate the new firm into their infrastructure using a dedicated server. In order to have a seamless integration, PC Professional proposed a server with Citrix. By using Citrix, computer maintenance updates would only have to be done on the server rather than each remote workstation. The solution was implemented in only two days.
