We heavily depend on technology to run our business, even our personal lives. When the "internet goes down," most businesses are at a standstill until they are back online, costing thousands in lost productivity and sales.

It's not just the BIG IT problems that are challenging. Day-to-day things like file access, password protection, document printing, or recovering files that were accidentally overwritten or deleted. These just some of the common needs in today's businesses – big or small.

For this reason,  you must have a way to get back up and running quickly should something happen. Ideally, it’s best to PREVENT these tech issues before they cause big trouble.

It’s precisely why we put together a list to help you determine how prepared your firm is for these IT issues.   So that you can stay focused on running a business and not have to worry about these all-too-common occurrences.

Check off all that apply:

  • Does your IT company answer their phone LIVE and respond to emergencies promptly (within 30 minutes)?
  • Is your IT company easy to reach and highly responsive (responding within an hour) when you need them for non-emergencies?
  • Do they proactively monitor and update your IT network's critical security settings daily? Weekly? At all? How do you know for sure? Hint: Most don't!
  • Does your IT company offer proof that they are backing up ALL your data, laptops and devices?
  • Does your IT company meet with you regularly (at least once a quarter) to report what they've been doing, review projects and offer new ways to improve your network's performance instead of waiting until you have a problem to make recommendations?
  • Does your IT company provide detailed invoices that clearly explain what you are paying for?
  • Do they explain what they are doing and answer your questions in terms that you can understand, NOT in "geek speak" and routinely ask if there's anything else they can help with, no matter how small?
  • Do they proactively discuss cybersecurity with you, make recommendations for protecting your network from ransomware and offer employee training videos, so they don't fall victim to a scam?
  • Has your IT company provided you with complete network documentation, or do they hold the "keys to the kingdom" refusing to give you admin passwords so you're totally helpless if something goes wrong and you can't get a hold of them?
  • Does its IT support team arrive on time and dress professionally, and do you look forward to working with them, or do you cringe every time you have to make that call?

If your current IT support company, technician or 'IT guy' does NOT check the boxes on every point, you could be paying for substandard support. And it’s costing your firm.

This could put your data and your network's security at risk. Whether you realize it or not, you could be losing thousands on missed opportunities and low productivity.  You and your employees’ time is wasted dealing with IT problems that shouldn't exist in the first place.

If this is the case, then it's about time to look at other options and make sure you're getting your money’s worth.

Surviving a Ransomware Attack

"When we were hit by a ransomware attack, PC Professional helped us get back onto our feet. Despite being on Windows 7, and using some servers and computers that were so old they were no longer in production, PC Pro still managed to restore most of our data.

Not only did they immediately take action to stop the attack from spreading, PC Pro even worked together with us to upgrade our hardware, installing new security measures that made our old system seem almost nonexistent in comparison. We're now set up with a disaster recovery plan thanks to PC Professional, and they offer us training on how to spot and stop threats in the future.

It was a tough lesson to learn, but PC Pro made sure we actually survived to see another day."
