PC Professional, Inc has signed on as Champion for Cybersecurity Awareness Month 2022. Since 2004, Cybersecurity Awareness Month has been held every October. It is globally recognized as the leading initiative in promoting cybersecurity awareness and best practices. Moreover, the Cybersecurity Awareness Month Champions Program is developed to expand the collaborative effort of government agencies, businesses, educational institutions, associations, nonprofit organizations, and individuals to this advocacy.
This year's Cybersecurity Awareness Month theme is ‘It’s easy to stay safe online.’
Consistent with our mission to deliver cutting-edge IT services with our highly responsive on-site and remote IT support team, we intensify our online security education efforts throughout this month.
From hybrid work settings to connected home devices, technology has become more intertwined with our day-to-day lives. As technology evolves at the speed of sound, cybercriminals work just as hard to look for ways to compromise technology and disrupt both our personal and professional lives. Cybersecurity Awareness Month underscores some of the emerging challenges online, particularly in the cybersecurity sphere. This provides clear and actionable guidance that anyone can follow to create a safe and secure digital world for themselves as well as their loved ones.
This year, the month-long campaign focuses on four fundamental cybersecurity best practices:
- Recognize and report phishing – still one of the primary threat actions that cybercriminals use today
- Understand the benefits of using a password manager and dispelling myths around password manager security and ease of use.
- Enable multi-factor authentication on individual devices and business networks.
- Install updates regularly and turn on automated updates.
The Cybersecurity Awareness Month continues to build momentum on providing everyone the knowledge and capability to stay safe and secure online. PC Professional proudly supports this far-reaching online safety awareness and education endeavor. Co-led by the National Cyber Security Alliance and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, this initiative is in its 19th year.

Since the 2004 Presidential proclamation establishing Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the undertaking has been formally recognized by Congress, federal, state and local governments, and the private sector, including industry leaders and academia. This joint effort is necessary to maintain a safer and more resilient cyberspace. Additionally, this effort can help keep the digital sphere a source of immense opportunity and growth for decades to come.
